I started practicing yoga years ago as a response to physical symptoms such
as back and hip pain, tension headaches, muscle cramps, and low energy. Within two weeks, most of my aches and pains had
dissipated. I was hooked! I also discovered the connection between my thoughts or emotions
and the physical symptoms I displayed. I quickly realized that yoga provided a positive impact on my personal
well-being. My passion for this transformational practice led me to teacher training, numerous courses with some
of the worlds best teachers and a thirst for new information about the human body.
My discovery of Thai Yoga massage reinforced my belief in the need to stretch the body
and the huge role that relaxation plays in good health. I
I took my first Thai course for interest and was hooked after the first class. I went on to study at the advanced level
and was given the opportunity to practice at Spine, Body and Sole with Brian Smuk, a Wholistic Chiropractor who
shared the same values and ideals about health. I now practice Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, and Thai Foot Massage
as well as Thai Yoga Massage.
The biggest challenge I have
experienced was the diagnosis of breast cancer. I am a survivor who has dealt with mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation
and numerous reconstructive surgeries. This diagnosis lead to a radical change to my diet and lifestyle. Prior
to this diagnosis, I considered myself to be one of the healthiest persons you could meet but after thorough research
by my myself and my husband, we discovered how many more changes we could make in our diets and lifestyles. I
believe that these changes were what got me through treatment and we soon discovered a whole new definition of feeling
healthy. I am passionate about passing this information on to my students, friends, and the world at large, as
I truly believe that most of the sickness we experience today is due to nutritional defiencies and stress.
